In Scott Kelly’s case, spending up to 340 consecutive days spinning around the Earth, 408km above it’s surface.

Not only is there the factor of living in such an extreme environment but the reliance on timely supply replenishment means that while physically disconnected they are completely dependent on their teams on the ground.
